Happy New Year and welcome to 2018! I Hope you had fun ringing in the New Year! My NYE consisted of a lovely dinner in and night by the fire. It was a change of pace and wonderful! I had some time to reflect on the the past year, and began to think about the new year and what’s to come. I have decided to change a few things and that I am going to take care of myself. Without sounding selfish, I have discovered that I’m happier when I do take a brief few moments for me, myself, and I! Here are some of the ways I will do that:
1. Spa Time
Whether you’re getting a mani/pedi or a massage or facial treatment, either way I hope you can relax! After the stress of the holidays, take some time to relax. I’m ashamed to admit this but I just discovered the paraffin wax for a pedicure. I have a hard time spending a lot on myself so I always stuck to the quick pedicure. When I can, I definitely splurge for the longer treatment! It is heavenly! I am also a big fan of hot stone massages.
2. Hair Time
I love getting my hair done. Whether I’m getting it colored, cut, or a blowout, I love it all! I’m a huge fan of getting my hair washed. It feels so good! I get my hair done at Dear Clark and an occasional blowout from Drybar at Northpark Mall.
3. Work Out
I always feel great after working out. I just wish I had more time to do it! I know that’s the worst excuse but I have found a 15 minute workout that I’m super excited about. Check it out here: shape.com
4. Eating Right
Whenever I look for healthy recipes, I look to Pinterest for ideas or the Food Network. I love seeing pictures to help me idealize what I’d be interested in. I’m a big fan of salmon so I can’t wait to try out the salmon with a sweet and spicy rub! Check out the Food Network for healthy dinners under 40 minutes: foodnetwork.com
5. More Sleep
This is something I always tell myself I’m going to work on but it’s so hard! I’m always so busy that time is just flying by. I know I’m happier and healthier when I get at least 8 hours of sleep. Try your best to go to bed at a reasonable time. Do this for a good couple of weeks and see how much better you’ll feel. My dog Freckles always gets her sleep!
6. Be More Organized
I wish I could say I’m a big neat freak but unfortunately I missed that bug. I am however, fairly good at being organized. I try to plan ahead as much as possible. My husband doesn’t always like that but I try to be spontaneous when there’s time! Planning always helps me knock out my to do list. Try making a list and crossing it off as you go. You’ll feel great crossing things off the list!
7. Treating Myself
Look good, feel good! Whether you buy some new clothes or jewelry, be sure to treat yourself. You just bought a bunch of gifts for others. Why not buy something for yourself? Check out Boxx Jewelry!
Each week this January, I’ll be releasing a new blog to help you keep up with these resolutions. You can do it!
Happy New Year,
