Winter is in full swing these days! Don’t you just want to get away? I love escaping the cold in the wintertime. Luckily it doesn’t get too cold here in Dallas but it can and does sometimes! Mexico is a great place to get away but if you’re looking for a drivable destination, then Florida it is! We love Panama City Beach, Destin, and all the towns along 30A. It’s one of our favorite places to go even in the wintertime. It can still be a little chilly there but being at the beach is always wonderful! We went recently and experienced such serenity. The water was calm and the sunsets were unbelievable!
We love to town hop along 30A. Especially in the winter when you’re not actually on the beach. There’s lots of cute shops and lots of cute restaurants and bars! It can be quite the haul from Texas but it is so worth it. Especially if you can stay for a week. If you haven’t been to Panama City Beach, Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach or Seaside, you’ve got to check it out! We’re fortunate enough to at least go twice a year. I’ve put together some places that are worthwhile to check out.
Great Place to Stay:
The Pearl Hotel in Rosemary. This hotel has it all. Gorgeous rooms, great pool, great restaurant and cool rooftop bar. And it’s steps away from the beautiful beaches!
Cowgirl Kitchen in Rosemary Beach is a great casual place to eat. They have an amazing grownup grilled cheese!
George’s in Alys Beach is another great dining option. Great lunch and dinner and a beautiful outdoor dining experience.
Bud and Alley’s in Seaside is a famous spot to grab food and a view! Not only is the food great but the view is awesome.
The Hub in Watersound is a great spot for live music. They almost always have live music or some type of movie night. In the Fall they’ll broadcast football games up on the big screen. It’s just a great place to hang out and enjoy wonderful food and have a great time!
Aaron Bessant Park in Panama City Beach is another great family friendly environment for live music events. They have events for Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as many festivals. It’s a great outdoor amphitheater that you can bring your own food and drink into if you want.
The great things about all these towns is they are very family friendly. There’s always something going on. Even when it’s too cold for the ocean, there’s still some type of event or live music happening.
Hope you can escape the cold soon and get to a warm place!
